Den tidigare kyrkan Hagia Sofia blir en moské. Beskedet från Turkiets president Recep Tayyip Erdogan skakar nu om bland såväl kristna som makthavare världen över.”Jag förväntar mig att EU, inklusive Sveriges utrikesminister Ann Linde, reagerar skarpt mot president Erdogans övertramp”, skriver KD:s partiledare Ebba Busch.

Den välkända byggnaden var ursprungligen en östortodox katedral i nära 900 år innan den omvandlades till moské och tillfördes minareter. Byggnaden sekulariserades och öppnades som museum 1934 under turkiska republikens landsfader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Erdogans besked kom under fredagen och redan samma dag hördes böneutrop från Hagia Sofia.
